The Underwater collection explores the colour and mystery of life beneath the surface. Sea Dragon remains one of its most distinctive expressions.

Inspired by Tasmania’s native Leafy Sea Dragon, this ink captures the delicate lime tones that allow the creature to disappear among drifting seaweed. Where many greens lean toward forest or emerald, Sea Dragon moves in the opposite direction.

It is bright, airy, and unmistakably lime.

This was our first true lime green. Lighter than our other greens, yet deliberate rather than fluorescent. On the page it opens fresh and translucent, then settles into layered tonal variation that gives writing depth without heaviness.

Sea Dragon is intentionally low in saturation. That restraint is its strength.

The lighter dye load allows the ink to shade beautifully, shifting from pale citrus washes to richer green pools in broader strokes. In expressive nibs the variation becomes more pronounced, revealing a natural gradient that feels organic rather than engineered.

For 2026, Sea Dragon retains its exact colour profile, now produced using our refined formulation and larger batch process:

• Zero sedimentation
• Smoother, clearer flow
• Greater consistency between bottles and batches

The result is a cleaner lime tone with more predictable shading behaviour across different papers and nib sizes.

Suitable for fountain pens, dip pens and brushwork. For maximum shading effect, a medium or broad nib will best showcase its tonal range.

Sea Dragon does not demand attention.
