Taiwan's Secret Realm - Shuiyang Forest

Shuiyang Forest, often described as a "fallen heaven," was created as a result of a landslide dam following the 921 Earthquake in 1999. A forest of Cunninghamia was submerged, leading to the death of the trees and leaving behind a hauntingly beautiful landscape of white tree trunks.

The forest is part of the Sun Link Sea Forest Park and is recommended for a two-day trip due to its remote location. The area is not only a testament to the earthquake's impact but also showcases a vibrant ecology that can be appreciated by hikers and campers, particularly under the clear, unpolluted night sky
