The "Glover House (Glover Residence)", which was registered as a World Heritage Site in July 2015 as part of the "Meiji Industrial Revolution Heritage Sites of Japan", was built during the turbulent period of the late Edo period and was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1961 as the oldest surviving wooden Western-style house in Japan.
