Arima in Kita-Kobe is known as a favorite place of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, a famous Japanese military commander, with a long history whose name can be found in the "Nihon Shoki".
Arima is also famous for its good hot springs (onsen), and since the color of the hot water is reddish brown containing iron and salt, it has been called "Kinsen*" and has been treasured by people since ancient times. (*kinsen = golden hot water)
This color expresses the deep amber color that is the color of the hot water of Arima Onsen.
